"Chris was our tour guide, get him if you can! We honestly had the best 4 days going from the Na Pali coast, Polihale State Park, Waimea Canyon plus much much more. We didn't need to think at all, everything was organised perfectly from locations to meals to camping gear... You name it they had it covered! "We set up the private custom tour because we wanted to do two shorter hikes. We are not in the best of shape but we wanted to see a part of Kauai that was different than the mainstream. Jeremiah did not disappoint. He was fabulous. He knew a lot about the plant life, some of the myths and he helped us sight animal life. We spent the day hiking in two ecosystems, coastal and jungle, both were interesting and had great views. Jeremiah also accommodated us to do some geocaching along the way."

"My family did a demanding yet amazing hike with Patrick above the Na Pali coast. I think it was supposed to take 3.5 to 4 hours but because of my less toned physique we had to slow the pace way down. Patrick was great. I felt safe and cared for, and incredibly grateful that he brought extra water and banana slices for when I got a leg cramp on the way back. His enthusiasm for island history and the natural environment is infectious. We had a wonderful experience, and I could not be more pleased."

"We took a five-hour tour of the Waimea Canyon, waterfalls, and NaPali cliffs with Megan and it was perfect. Meghan asked us what we wanted to see at the outset, we told her about our walking limitations, and she designed the perfect tour for us. Along the way we saw exactly what we wanted, learned a lot about the island's history, culture, natural beauty, and language. Highly, highly recommend tours with this company, and we hope next time we're a little more mobile and can have some more adventures."

"What a fantastic hike with Patrick. He was incredibly knowledgeable and very personable. We hiked the back side of the Sleeping Giant and it was absolutely perfect. He made the hike exactly what we wanted it to be and then some. He even took us to some hidden places on the Sleeping Giant that were amazing to see! Mahalo for a fantastic experience! We will be back and will do another hike with you...hopefully sooner rather than later. A hui hou and aloha plenty...Erin and Darron."

"I had an amazing day in Kauai with Jeremiah and the group. I highly recommend his tours! As a solo female traveler, hiking with Jeremiah and the group made the experience stress free and seamless so I could enjoy the experience. "My husband and I went to Kauai for our honeymoon and our hike with Jeremiah along a portion of the Napali Coast was hands-down one of the highlights of the trip. Not only did he know everything about Hawaii and the wildlife/plants of the particular region, he was extremely knowledgeable about the people who lived and inhabited those regions. There wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer. He was extremely prepared with snacks and a first aid kit, as well as additional hiking poles that we used that were very helpful. This excursion was 100% worth it and I highly recommend booking a hike with Jeremiah! You won’t regret it!"

"We booked a custom tour and the person on the phone asked plenty of questions regarding what we were looking for. We are an active family and wanted something unique and educational (being teachers). We got Jeremiah who besides being the owner and building his company from the ground up, was just the guide we needed. We ran into some unexpected weather and when talking about hobbies, we learned about his ability to instruct on primitive skills, and that was right up our alley! He whipped out his primitive survival skills which we all loved and we took home a new skill as well! Jeremiah is professional, very smart, level-headed, and in very genuine. "If you are on the fence about whether to hire a guide to take you on the hike of a lifetime, go for it!! We had the best day hiking with Meghan. She was a wealth of knowledge, kind, and listened to us and our needs. She helped us decide where to hike based on our athletic capability, feeling about heights, and the current weather. Meghan drove us there and back and brought waters and snacks so it was a very easy kind of day! And we learned so much about the actual hike and about Hawaiian mythology and culture. We both were overwhelmed at how happy we were with our decision to hire Kauai Hiking Tours. Even if you are athletic and capable (like we are!) hire this guide to take you places you wouldn’t have gone on your own. We knew we were in good hands the whole time!"

"Words cannot adequately describe the hike we experienced on the Na Pali Coast with Jenny. However, we sent pictures to friends and family who couldn't believe the perfect weather we experienced and incredible views - most people told us they experienced clouds and fog during their hikes. If we return for another hike, we will ask for Jenny as our tour guide. I usually have a fear of heights and am hesitant to embark on such hikes. Jenny coached me during the entire hike and gave me confidence. Additionally, in all our years of hiking, we never met a guide who demonstrated the level of knowledge and experience as Jenny relative to Hawaiian culture and history, terrain, wildlife, what to do in case of injury and ability to inspire confidence in her followers. "I and my mom did two hikes with KHT while visiting Kaua’i this June and had a great time. Our guide was Jeremiah. As we had no car, I was looking for a private guide to take us to Waimea Canyon and other places. After researching Tripadvisor and contacting another guide based on guidebook recommendation ( who was unresponsive and overpriced), I found someone’s trip report describing their great experience with KHT. I contacted the reviewer who provided further advice and recommended KHT to me. I contacted KHT and received immediate responses with answers to my initial inquiries. After exchanging several emails I spoke to Andrew and Jeremiah and was able to set up two private hikes with them with pick ups from hotel and geared to our interests and abilities. For our first hike, Jeremiah picked us up from Grand Hyatt and took us to Waimea Canyon, stopping at various overlooks, including some hidden ones, where we were able to enjoy the wondrous beauty of Waimea Canyon in private."

To say this was a highlight of our trip is an understatement. Our guide, Jenny, was amazing. Born and raised on Kauai, she loves this land and knows it inside and out. Her insight into the area and culture was an invaluable part of the tour and she was just downright fun! The 6 hours together flew by - the kids loved the experience - hiking in the Canyon, swimming in a water hole, getting muddy and loving it!!! Thank you Jenny for an incredible day and experience.
